Spruce Meadows Christmas Market

On Nov 17th my mom and I took Jaquelyn to the Christmas market at Spruce Meadows. We have taken her every year for the last 3 years. Maybe Benson wi be old enough next year! I know he would love seeing the reindeer, but not the rest.
Jaquelyn was extra lucky this year and got to pet and hold a reindeer outside!

Christmas Tree

We decorated our Christmas tree on Sunday before the kids went to bed. They had a great time - and I think the tree turned out great!

Buddy

We had a special visitor arrive today from the North Pole! An Elf on the Shelf!
When the kids came downstairs after their bath this morning he was waiting on top of the fireplace. Benson was very excited, and Jaquelyn was a little cautious. We read the story that came with him, and Jaquelyn quickly got on board. They decided to name him Buddy. I imagine they will race tomorrow morning to see who can find him first.
Jaquelyn drew Santa some special pictures this afternoon and wondered if Buddy could take them with him tonight when he reports back to Santa. I thought that was a good idea so Jaquelyn rolled up the papers and I slid it into Buddy's arms carefully not to touch him and take away his magic. I have posted the pictures she drew for Santa as well as Buddy waiting to greet the kids, their reaction and buddy with Jaquelyn's drawings.
I think this is the start of a very fun new tradition!

Jaquelyn's birthday parties

Jaquelyn had a fun Halloween themed dress up party with her friends on Sat Oct 27th. We had a haunted house, bobbed for apples and played spooky games.
That evening after the party we went to the Dewinton hall party with the Visser's. The kids got to dress up, decorate a pumpkin & had lots of fun with Nina, Noah & Aoife.
Sunday we had family over for a party - such a busy weekend!! The kids all dressed up and a fun time was had by all.

Beth & Jordan gave Jaquelyn a ukelele for her birthday. She LOVES it!! Now she just needs to learn how to play!

Benson adores Jaquelyn

I just think this is one of the sweetest pictures ever. Jaquelyn was working on her homework a couple weekends back & Benson was watching so intently. He just wants to be involved with everything she does.

Jaquelyn's 6th birthday

There was no school on Jaquelyn's birthday, as it was a pd day. We started off the day going to brunch with my sister Gin and Logan. We made a stop at the Disney store (they have a special way of wishing kids happy birthday) and then just relaxed the rest of the day, and then when Henri got home she opened gifts and Grandp Garry took us for supper to Swiss Chalet. She had a pretty great day.

At the Disney Store - they made a huge announcement that it was her birthday and then a little happy birthday clip played on their big screen in the store. So special!
